::: SASSY HAIR :::

Decided to revisit an old friend, Let’s Jam Custard, using the method that I describe in this here #TBT video. My hair has grown a lot since then. While some of the products have changed, the method is basically the same. And I must say my curls have responded well– looking and feeling über moisturized despite the fact that it’s BRICK out in these streets!

Check it out & stay hott, lovelies!! COMMENT if you want to see an updated WnG vid. Thinking of making a return to YT.

#WanderlustWednesdays ✈️🌍

Remember that time in #Rio circa 2012? 🌚😍 Well another #fullmoon is upon us and while this is often a super-charged time that can be emotional and even marked by agitation for some, it’s also a time of balance.

This means it’s also the perfect opportunity to decompress, cleanse and #meditate.
The #solar and #lunar energy are in harmonious alignment for this, typically, 5-day period or culmination point. Now is the time to act on and make intentions set at the new moon manifest and bring ideas into reality.

So, what kind of magic will you make, loves???

Sassy Wanderer ::: Wanderlust Wednesday

Between weather delays and long layovers, navigating crowded airports during the holidays (well, anytime really) can really suck. However, true jetsetters have mastered the art of packing only as much as necessary and carrying with them a few essentials that make roaming – whether by air, sea, or plane – their pleasure.

My bestie was a flight attendant for a number of years, and watching her pack and unpack at my place on her frequent stops in my city, I picked up a few no-fail tips that I have incorporated to perfect my routine. Considering that my city has the number one busiest airport in the world, my ability to look dazzling on the fly (pun intended) were really put to the test when I began traveling frequently and had to rush to the airport on a whim to dash of town. Here are a few tips that I picked up that have helped me to look and feel my best when dashing across time zones.

Stop a bad hair day before it starts… check out:

As a result of my naturally curly, textured hair, frizz and I have come to know each other fairly well. In the beginning of my journey to wear my hair curly every day, like a jilted lover, frizz kept showing up uninvited and making a fuss on every possible occasion.

These days I have come to respect frizz now that I understand how to handle it. Instead of shunning it, I accept that it’s a natural characteristic of my hair type that I can rely on when I want some va-va-voom volume without looking like I’ve been attacked by a flock of birds looking for a nest. Most days, my curls repay me by behaving the way that I want them to: with moderate control. Organized chaos, if you will.

So here are a few dos and don’ts that I’ve learned that will help you to stay on the path to frizz-freedom:

DO make sure to deep-condition regularly. I cannot overstate the importance of well-moisturized and nourished hair. I like Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque and Macadamia Deep Repair Masque.

DON’T use hair products that contain humectants in the first five ingredients when the dew point in the atmosphere is high (I’ll get more science-y on this in a bit — sit tight). The most common humectants are glycerin, panthenol/provitamin B5, propylene glycol and honey. If your hair is straight and you want it to stay that way, it’s probably best that you avoid humectants at all costs.
